Tonie Cox

Director of Product Design

Tonie got her start as a fashion and product photographer before transitioning to industrial design. She has taught industrial and interior design at the undergraduate level as well.

She has blended her influences: the flowing, sensuous lines of fabric, the interplay of light of shadows, and the elegant structures of nature to create a unique line of home furnishings. She believes in the Bauhaus ideal of creating beauty in everyday objects. By making common items beautiful, design is brought into daily life and sub-consciously becomes a part of the built environment much like the inherent beauty of the natural environment.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard University, MA in Industrial Design from North Carolina State University, School of Design
